Suresh Raina, an Indian Cricketer and player of Indian Premier League’s (IPL)Chennai Super Kings ruled out of IPL 2020.
Suresh Raina returned to India for personal reasons and will miss the IPL 2020 season.
The news of Raina’s exit was confirmed by CSK through their official Twitter handle.
On the 29th of August, CSK took to Twitter and said, “Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time”
The upcoming IPL season is set to begin on September 19 with Chennai Super Kings taking on defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener.
However, the exact reason behind Suresh Raina’s sudden return is unclear.
Meanwhile, on the 28th of August, a CSK player Deepak Chahar tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. Along with Deepak Chahar, 9 other members of the franchise CSK tested positive for COVID-19.
With this, the Chennai Super Kings would be under quarantine for an extended period.
The IPL 2020 is set to begin from the 19th of September and would continue till the 10th of November.
This year’s IPL is scheduled in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
As many as eight teams are participating in IPL.
Teams are: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
