Twin Tons by Dhawan and Kohli put India in Driver seat

Twin Tons by Dhawan and Kohli put India in Driver seat: After Ashwin’s heroics yesterday, Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan stole the show on day 2. Despite the shaky start, Indian captain constructed a careful and massive partnership of 227 with the South Paw. Except for the few dropped chances, Dhawan looked confident and entertained everyone with classic off drives.

Srilanka on the other hand came to the field with out their captain. Mathews sat out the first session due to ‘flu’ but came on to the field after lunch. The Srilankan body language was poor and not at all seemed anywhere near competitive for Indian batsmen. They waited for things to happen instead of making thing happen.

Unfortunately for the visitors, Kohli fell immediately after completing his century and India lost three quick wickets to give the momentum back to Sri Lanka. The new Indian wicket keep Saha went ballastic with an impressive  half century. As result India ended up all out at the score of 375 taking a lead of 192.

The batting woes continued for Sri Lanka continued when Ashwin struck again in the first over of the second innings as he sent  D Karunaratne for a duck. later in the next over Mishra sent the other opener Kaushal Silva for a duck too. As a result Sangakkara came to the crease early and made sure that his side won’t lose anymore wickets. Srilanka is trailing by 187 runs at the end of Day’s play. Sangakkara has a mammoth task in front of him , if Sri Lanka were to draw the test match.
