Meeting on Virat Kohli’s selection as captain delayed.

The Lodha Panel, on Friday, was supposed to meet the CEO of BCCI to select Virat Kohli as the captain for One Day International’s. But the meeting has been delayed owing to the old guard feeling that the meeting was not authorized. This selection of the captain and also the team for ODI was for the upcoming series against England. The BCCI board president Anurag Thakur and the secretary Ajay Shirke were sacked on Monday by the Supreme Court. The board is all set to reform after the Apex’s Court judgment on July 18. The Court said that the operations of the board would be taken care by Committee of Administrators (CoA). The then Chief Justice T.S. Thakur asked the senior advocates Fali S. Nariman and Gopal Subramaniam to help the court in selecting members with spotless integrity for the CoA team.

The Supreme Court ordered Thakur and Shirke to cease and desist from the board and its work. The bench also said it is “indicative of his having washed his hands of a duty and obligation to ensure compliance.”

These delays in the board arrangements and the impending implementation of the decisions are delaying the selection process for the ODI team.
