Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Chief of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) sat on a Satyagraha at Gandhi Bhavan, Hyderabad, Telangana.
The TPCC leader sat on a satyagraha after the Hyderabad Police denied permission to the Party for conducting ‘Tiranga Rally’ in the wake of 135th Indian National Congress (INC) foundation day.
On the 28th of December, 1885, the INC was founded by A.O. Hume, a retired British Officer and today, the 28th of December 2019, the Party celebrates its 135th Congress Foundation Day.
Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the All India Congress Committee (AICC,) Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi and other INC leaders celebrated the event in Delhi.
In the wake of the 135th Congress Foundation Day, INC in other regions of India also organised small events and Tiranga Rallies. However, in Telangana, the Police denied permission to celebrate the day and to organise a rally.
The INC leaders in Telangana decided to conduct a rally from Gandhi Bhavan to Tank Bund with the slogan, ‘Save Nation, Save Constitution.’
Uttam Kumar Reddy hoisted the flag at Gandhi Bhavan and sat on a 24 hour satyagraha with Bhatti Vikramarka, the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader and R.C. Khuntia, the INC State in charge.
