Hyderabad: Anti COrruption Bureau (ACB) court on Tuesday granted 8 days custody of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) secretary and Hyderabad Metro Rail planning officer Siva Balakrishna.
ACB recently arrested Balakrishna in the alleged disproportionate assets case and he was presently under judicial remand at Chanchalguda prison.
ACB conducted raids at 16 locations and seized Rs. 8.26 crores cash and Rs.100 crores worth properties belonging to Balakrishna. The ACB also identified that Balakrishna purchased around 100 acres of land near Yadadri, Kalwakurthy, Janagama and other areas surrounding Hyderabad city. Huge quantities of gold and movable assets were also seized.
The ACB suspected that Balakrishna earned huge money by benefiting the realtors when he worked at HMDA and RERA.
Authorities of ACB asked people to give information about the corrupt authorities. The ACB became active in recent times and arranged huge banners displaying grievance numbers at all government offices.
