On the 17th of April, another shocking case came into light after a data entry operator at the Gandhi Medical College tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The case created panic amongst the staff at the Gandhi Medical College staff, especially the ones, who came in contact with the data operator at the premises.

The data operator neither had a travel history nor did he come in contact with anyone who was COVID-19 positive.  The Health Department collected his samples and are trying to figure out from where he got the virus.

This is not the first case, where a patient without any travel history and contact with  COVID-19 patients got the virus and were tested positive for Coronavirus .

However, it is yet to be known if these increasing cases are the reason for the community transmission, which is the 3rd stage of the Novel Coronavirus.  On the other hand, the State Government assured there is no report of community transmission in the State yet.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Government reported 50 new cases of the Coronavirus, out of which 90 %, which is approximately 40 cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC.)

With these updates, Telangana has a total of 700 positive cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 18 deaths till date.
