CM KCR’s Relatives Were Kidnapped Over Land Dispute, Rescued By Police Within Hours

Some relatives of K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana were kidnapped.

Three men who are directly related to K. Chandrasekhar Rao, were kidnapped from their home in Bowenpally in Hyderabad on the evening of the 5th of January.

The reason behind the kidnapping is said to be a land dispute in Hafeezpet, Hyderabad.

According to the family members of the victim, the former Andhra Pradesh tourism minister Bhuma Akhil Priya and her husband Bhargav’s family are alleged to have been involved in the kidnapping.

According to police, around 7:00 P.M., 15 members posing as IT sleuths entered the joint family of Praveen Rao at Manovikas Nagar in Bowenpally. After informing the family members that they came to conduct a search, the 15 member team separated Praveen Rao, his brothers, Naveen Rao and Sunil Rao from the rest of the family.

Later around 7.30 P.M.,, the 15 members drove away with the three brothers in three separate vehicles.

The family members approached the police at around 10:00 P.M., Police immediately formed search parties and verified CCTV footage near Praveen’s house.

The kidnappers also snatched laptops and mobile phones from them. Some valuables in the house were also stolen.

The three kidnapped people were rescued by the Telangana Police within 24 hours. They were found on the outskirts of the City, near Vikarabad on the morning of the 6th of January.

In a video addressed to the media, advocate Pratap Kumar, the victims’ elder brother said the brothers have reached home safely and everybody knows who is behind this matter and police would investigate it.

Pratap Kumar also thanked the City Police for rescuing and bringing back his brothers home safely. He also expressed his gratitude to Mahabubabad Member of Parliament (MP) Maloth Kavitha and Minister Srinivas Goud for intervening in getting them back home.

Police have already detained around 10 persons and seized vehicles used for the kidnap.

Bowenpally Inspector K. Ravi Kumar said a case has been registered under sections 448, 419, 341, 342, 506, 366 r/w 149 of the IPC.

More details regarding the case are yet to be revealed.
