Mr. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Indian National Congress (INC) Telangana Unit, demanded the suspension of Sub Inspector (SI) Krishna Reddy.
On the 20th of February, Monday, Mr. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged growing nexus between the Telangana Police and the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders across the State. He said SI Krishna Reddy attended the Party Meeting of the BRS which was held in Suryapet and demanded his suspension.
According to sources, Mr. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy claimed that many police officials were openly operating like BRS activists and were intentionally targeting the INC leaders in Telangana. Naming SI Krishna Reddy, Mr. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, he attended the BRS meeting which was held under the leadership of Mr. Saidi Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the BRS.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “The same SI illegally beat Congress activists from Nakkagudem, Peekla Naik Thanda and Thammavaram villages on different dates last week.” He further said that SI Krishna Reddy also filed false cases against tribals of Peekla Naik Thanda and the Indian National Congress leaders of Thammavaram village in the last couple of weeks.
In a statement, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “I have personally pointed out many instances wherein some police officials harassed Congress activists and implicated them in false cases. However, no action has been taken against them. This is a dangerous trend and must be stopped immediately.”
Taking a dig at the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Suryapet District, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “Despite many complaints to Suryapet SP Rajender Prasad and other district level officials, some police officials in Nalgonda LS constituency are going berserk at the instance of local MLAs. They are working like henchmen of local BRS MLAs instead of acting like uniformed men on public duty.”
Furthermore, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy also alleged BRS leaders of grabbing government lands illegally, whereas the Telangana Police is taking no action against those local BRS leaders. He further added, even Revenue Officer did not take any action against the BRS leaders who acquired 46 acres of government land worth Rs. 100 crores illegally.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy urged the suspension of SI Krishna Reddy and other such officials in the Telangana Police department, who are working for the BRS Government.
