The fight for the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly by election intensified between the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
Mr. Eatala Rajender, the BJP candidate for the Huzurabad Assembly by election, addressed a public meeting and criticised Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana.
He said, “Is the ruling TRS not trusting its own leaders in the Huzurabad Assembly segment? If the goings-on are any indication.” He further said, “The TRS chief thinks people of Telangana are sheep and goats. However, this time, people of Huzurabad are not in a mood to believe the political rhetoric of the CM and FM Harish Rao.”
Speaking about the ongoing campaign strategy of the State Government TRS, Mr. Eatala Rajender said the TRS leaders of Huzurabad are sidelined as the Siddipet and Karimnagar leaders are dominating the election campaigns. He further said, the State Government is also trying to purchase their own leaders as they lost trust in them and are in doubt if they would switch loyalties.
Along with Mr. Eatala Rajender, Ms. Sobha, a leader of the BJP also said that the ruling party was bringing people from other constituencies as it was not in a position to mobilize its own leaders from Huzurabad. Pointing to the involvement of the TRS leaders from Siddipet and Karimnagar in Huzurabad, Ms. Sobha said their leaders would be gone by the 30th of October, following which no one would be there for the people of Huzurabad. Therefore, they should vote accordingly and not trust the TRS.
The Huzurabad Assembly by election is a tough fight between the BJP and the TRS, especially after the former Health Minister, former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Huzurabad and TRS leader Mr. Eatala Rajender’s resignation. In addition, after resignation, Mr. Eatala Rajender joined the BJP, making the Huzurabad a battle of ultimate victory.
Since Mr. Eatala Rajender joined the BJP and is expected to contest the Huzurabad by election on a BJP ticket, the victory of the BJP and the TRS is 50-50.
Both the parties are trying to get the attention of voters and gain the maximum number of votes for their respective MLA candidates. While Mr. Gellu Srinivas Yadav is the TRS candidate, he will contest against Mr. Eatala Rajender, the MLA candidate of the BJP.
In addition, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) are also expected to be in the fray for the MLA post.
The by election for the vacant post of the Huzurabad Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) would be held on the 30th of October. The counting of the votes would be held on the 2nd of November, following which results would be announced.
