Siddipet: Revenue officials have begun verifying lands linked to former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Erravelli farmhouse in Erravelli village of Markook mandal, Siddipet district.
District Revenue Officer AD Sudarshan and RDO Chandrakala visited the area as officials examined land records at the Markook Tahsildar’s office. The verification is focused on establishing the status of around 385 acres of government land located near the farmhouse.
Officials said the preliminary findings are expected to be available within a day or two. The department is also using technology as part of the exercise, including Google Earth maps and satellite imagery, to compare the historical condition and present status of the land.
Officials are additionally examining allegations concerning assigned land located around a kilometre from the farmhouse, including whether such land was used in violation of its assigned purpose.
The field survey reportedly faced resistance from some local farmers. The farmers confronted officials and questioned the survey of land they said they had been cultivating. The Revenue Department is expected to submit its findings after completing the verification.
