GHMC Charges Fine Of Rs. 3.15 Lakh For Putting New Mayor’s Flexis

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) issued a notice regarding the installation of Ms. Vijayalaxmi Gadwal’s flexia.

Officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have sent notices asking to pay Rs 3.15 lakh as fine for installing flexis of the newly elected GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi.

The flexis were erected in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Halls after she was elected as mayor with the support of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.)

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate won the mayoral election on the 11th of February.

Vijayalakshmi is the daughter of TRS Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao. She is the corporator of Banjara Hills.

As per norms of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) flexi banners are banned within its limits.

Some activists say that she should have clearly told her cadre not to raise such flexi banners, and GHMC officials should remove them immediately and no one is above law, including the First Citizen of Hyderabad.

Therefore Ms. Vijayalaxmi and her cadre need to pay the hefty fine.
