Old Malakpet division, Ward no. 26 is reconducting polls for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
The GHMC elections for 150 wards/divisions were held on the 1st of December.
However, due to the technical issue, the GHMC election for Old Malakpet was cancelled and re scheduled on the 3rd of December.
The State Election Commission (SEC) has announced repolling for Old Malakpet after the ballot paper was wrongly printed with the symbol of CPI candidate. The ballot paper was printed with ‘hammer’, ‘sickle’ and ‘star’ instead of ‘Ears of corn and sickle’.
Re polling in Old Malakpet division in Hyderabad is underway. The voting started at 7:00 A.M., and would continue till 6:00 P.M., today.
As many as 54,655 voters including 27,889 men voters, 26,763 women voters and 3 other people would exercise their franchise to vote.
The election commission has arranged 69 polling stations in the Old Malakpet division and 12 micro observers.
In addition, at 23 polling stations webcasting has been arranged.
After the announcement of repolling for Old Malakpet, the MA&UD secretary Arvind Kumar said that indelible ink will be applied on the middle finger of the voters after casting their vote in Old Malakpet.
The voting is underway and the results of 150 divisions of the GHMC elections would be announced on the 4th of December.
