In order to create awareness about dog bites, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Administration (GHMC,) conducted awareness drives in Hyderabad.
On the 25th of February, Saturday, the GHMC officials visited Callaghan and briefed school students about safety and preventive measures against dog bites.
Among others, Moosapet, Gajularamaram and Serilingampally were some GHMC circles where school students were briefed on Saturday, confirmed the GHMC sources.
Pamphlets on measures to be adopted to prevent street dog attacks were also distributed in schools. The GHMC will also take action against meat stall owners who throw waste in public places.
The awareness drive were started after the recent incident of dog bite, which led to killing of a four year old boy in Hyderabad. Recently, three stray dogs attacked a four year old, leaving him with serious stomach injuries.
In Hyderabad, a heart wrenching incident occurred recently, leading to the death of a four year old child, after being bitten by street dogs.
In a CCTV footage, video showed three street dogs attacking a 4 year old boy at a housing society in Hyderabad. The boy was trying to escape when the three dogs attacked him, leaving the boy with serious stomach injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but declared brought dead by doctors. According to sources, the father of the child, Gangadhar, works as a security personnel in the housing complex where the incident took place.
