Twelve people were reportedly injured in a train accident near the Kacheguda Railway Station in Hyderabad.

Two trains, a Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS) train from Malakpet and the Kurnool-Hyderabad Intercity Express, collided with each other around 10:30 A.M., on the 11th of November.

According to sources, 12 people were injured, including the driver of the Kurnool-Hyderabad Intercity Express.  However, no casualties were reported by the authorities so far.

The injured people were rushed to Osmania General Hospital and are undergoing treatment.  Meanwhile, the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) is trying to rescue the driver of the MMTS train, who is stuck in an engine cabin.

The crash is said to have taken place due to a technical fault.  The signalling system gave no alerts to both the trains while they were running.

The passengers in the train were angry with the railway staff for their mistake.

The Railway Department launched an investigation and is looking into the matter.

Piyush Goyal, the Railway Minister of India, took to Twitter and directed the officials to offer all possible assistance to the passengers.

Stay tuned for further updates.
