On the 11th of June, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, a Member of Parliament (MP) of the Indian National Congress (INC) was kept under house arrest for foil protest ‘Chalo Secretariat.’

The INC MP called the protest over spike in the power bills due to which the Telangana police house arrested MP Komatireddy Venkatreddy.

The incident took place around 6:00 A.M., on the 11th of June and tight police security were deployed at his residences.  Besides Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s house, police personnel were deployed at the residences of the CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and senior INC leader V. Hanumantha Rao.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Komatireddy said K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of  Telangana is running a dictatorial rule in Telangana.

The CM had asked the people not to pay rents due to the lockdown and is now charging electric bills at higher slab rates. He also questioned the State Government as to how could a person who did not find work in the last three months due to the lockdown pay the power bills.

On the other hand, the BJP leaders Lakshman, MLA Raja Singh, Ramchandra Rao called for Pragati Bhavan lay siege on June 12 after the government denied appointment to the party to discuss over public issues.

Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 4,111 positive cases of the Novel Coronavirus till the 11th of June.
