The daily cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) are under control with below 11,000 single day cases. With the 9,520 new Wuhan virus cases, the active cases stand at 87,311.
Notably, on the 26th of August, Friday, India registered 10,256 new cases, with which the active cases in India were at 90,707. However, the number of cases declined on the 27th of August by 736 cases in the single day spike and 3,396 cases decline in the active COVID-19 cases.
On the 27th of August, Friday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed 9,520 new Wuhan virus cases, with 41 fatalities and 12,875 recoveries.
With this update, the COVID-19 infections decreased to 87,311 active cases, 4,37,83,788 recovered/discharged cases and 5,27,597 deceased cases, till date.
Furthermore, the active cases comprise 0.20% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.62% with a 1.19% fatality rate.
The Wuhan virus cases were confirmed after conducting 3,81,205 sample tests, taking the overall tally of COVID-19 tests in India to over 88.47 crores.
Meanwhile, under the nationwide vaccination drive, India administered over 211.19 crore vaccine doses. In addition, So far, the Central Government has provided more than 201.15 crores (2,01,15,92,325) Wuhan virus vaccine doses to the States/Union Territories, out of which, 6.51 crores (6,51,69,130) vaccines are unutilized and are still available with the state and union territories, confirmed the Union MoHFW.
