The Indian student, hailing from Telangana, who was shot in California earlier this week, is now out of danger. The Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj confirmed this news.
Swaraj late night on Thursday, tweeted, “I have received the report from our Consulate in San Francisco.” She also added, “The victim Mubeen Ahmed works at a gas station. A gunman demanded money from Mubeen and then fired at him. He is admitted in the Eden Medical Centre CA. Fortunately, Mubeen is now out of danger. We are following up the case with the police”
Mubeen Ahmed, 26, is a native of Sangareddy district of Telangana. On June 4, He was shot twice in the stomach at his workplace in California. The family, however, came to know about the incident on Thursday.
The family confirmed this news and said some men entered the workplace posing as customers. They said that he got into an argument, shot him in the stomach and escaped from the place.
Mubeen was immediately rushed to a California hospital. He underwent surgery there and was under observation until Friday. Mubeen’s relatives from Chicago have been attending to him at the hospital.
