JBS-MGBS Metro Line To Be Inaugurated Soon

The Metro line between the Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) is finally going to open in 10 days.

After the security check and other formalities, the Metro stretch between JBS and MGBS would be opened.  K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister and the Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Minister, confirmed the news about the inauguration of the Metro line.

On the 12th of January, Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) J.K. Garg, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy and senior engineers conducted a clearance test, following which they issued the clearance certificate.  

The JBS-MGBS route on Corridor II of the Hyderabad Metro Rail would cover stations like JBS, Parade Grounds, Secunderabad West, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, RTC X Road, Chikkadpally, Narayanguda, Sultan Bazar and MGBS.

KTR, during an event on the 31st of January, said, “The 11 km long stretch will be opened on Corridor II before the 10th of February.”

The officials of HMRL are waiting for an appointment with K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, to finalise an inauguration date.

The Metro services would soon be available for passengers travelling on this route.  The new Metro train on the route would help commuters save time as by road, it takes 45 minutes to travel from JBS to MGBS, whereas by the Metro, they can make it in just 16 minutes.
