BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the disqualification of Danam Nagender as an MLA. KTR described the verdict as a “Supreme slap” to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
KTR said Nagender’s attempt to avoid disqualification was rejected by the Supreme Court. He said the court upheld the Telangana High Court’s decision under the anti-defection law.
KTR also criticised the Congress over defections. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy tried to gain political advantage through defections and relied on the Speaker.
He said the people of Khairatabad would give their verdict over what he described as three years of betrayal, broken promises and misrule.
KTR further said, “One wicket down, more to follow soon,” while targeting the Congress leadership.
