On the 24th of July, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders and ministers extended birthday wishes to K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana.
One of the famous and hard working leaders of the ruling TRS Government is celebrating his 45th birthday today. On this occasion, the Working President of the TRS, KTR launched ‘Gift a Smile’ initiative, under which he provided 100 scooters to differently abled people of Telangana.
On the 23rd of July, KTR took to Twitter and said, “Last year, on the eve of my birthday, I had personally donated 6 ambulances, and our TRS MLAs, MPs joined in taking the total number to 90. This year too, decided that the best way to celebrate is to #GiftASmile in a personal capacity to 100 differently-abled with custom made vehicles.”
KTR, the son of the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, joined politics in 2006 and contested for the first time in 2009. During his political journey, he held various roles and responsibilities. He emerged as one of the strong and dynamic political leaders in Telangana. As the IT and MA&UD Minister of Telangana, he devoted himself and worked hard for the growth and development of both the sectors in Telangana. He has brought major IT companies and research development centres to Hyderabad, making the city the largest IT hub in India.
KTR urged TRS leaders, cadres and his followers not to spend money on cake, flowers and other unnecessary items, instead plant saplings, help the poor and work towards the progress of the society. He posted a tweet, regarding the same and said, “A request to TRS party leaders, other well wishers, and those who would like to greet me, kindly plant a sapling if you can as part of #MukkotiVruksharchana or #GiftASmile in your own personal way by helping someone in need. Please don’t splurge money on bouquets, cakes, and hoardings.”
In regard to this special request, the TRS cadres and leaders organised Mukkoti Vruksha Chana on Saturday, the 24th of July.
Many Members of Parliament (MPs,) Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) came forward to celebrate KTR’s birthday with planting saplings and donating a smile, under the Gift a Smile initiative.
It is to be noted, MLC Naveen Rao came forward to donate 100 vehicles, MLCs Shambipur Raju and Pochampally Srinivas Reddy promised to donate 60 vehicles each. The State Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay also came forward to donate 50 vehicles and MLA Balka Suman promised to donate 50 vehicles, while MLA Gadari Kishore said that he would donate 20 tricycles.
Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, MLAs Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao, Saidi Reddy Shanampudi, Jeevan Reddy, and a few others also have come forward to donate the custom made vehicles under the ‘Gift A Smile’ initiative
Meanwhile, Twitter is also flooded with birthday wishes to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K.T. Rama Rao.
