KTR Conducts Meeting With Officials To Address Migrant Workers Issue

K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, on the 20th of April, conducted a meeting with the district officials.

The meeting was held through a video conference and was organised to discuss the extended lockdown and issues of migrant workers in the State.

Mr. Rao directed the officials of the Industries and Labour Department to take initiative steps to help the migrant labourers in the State during the lockdown, proposed to end on the 7th of May.

The meeting was organised after K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced an extension to the ongoing lockdown.  

KTR asked the officials to review all the work camps, and factories where labourers and migrant workers are residing and ensure essential needs and medical facilities to them.

While concluding the conference, KTR asked the concerned officials to organise a state level help desk for the migrant workers.  KTR even shared a helpline number 9429555379 with the workers so they could contact in any need or complaint related to medical facilities, food and wages.
