In Laxmapur village of Achampet mandal, a major fire broke out in Rudra Solar Power plant on the late night of the 28th of March, Monday.
According to sources, the fire broke out due to lit grass and agricultural waste nearby. Getting into the details, farmers of Laxmapur village burnt agricultural waste and dry grass in the farms adjacent Rudra solar plant, which turned into a major fire accident and spread to the premises of the solar plant. As the solar power plant is full of dry grass, the fire immediately caught.
However, due to security alerts, the fire fighters were immediately informed, who doused the fire in two hours. A worker at the solar plant said, “We are thankful to the fire tenders which came immediately after being alerted. The fire was spreading widely and uncontrollable due to high dry grass. Though there was no major damage to our assets, however, minor damage to the wires and other materials was caused due to the fire.”
Notably, the power plant had assets worth crores, but due to quick action by security workers, the accident did not have any huge damage or any casualties.
