Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, on the 13th of February, Sunday, unveiled the golden statue of Ramanujacharya.

During this, he said that it is my utmost privilege to unveil the statue of Ramanujacharya. The President said that Chinna Jeyar Swami has created history by installing a grand statue of Ramanujacharya ji in this country. BbHearty congratulations to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Bhagwat Shri Ramanujacharya Millennium Smriti Maha Mahotsav, the greatest flag bearer of Bhakti and Equality in the glorious history of India. It is a matter of great privilege for me to participate in this function and unveil the golden statue of Ramanujacharya. President Kovind said that on 5th February, on the day of Vasant Panchami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the grand Samata idol of Shri Ramanujacharya ji.

President Ram Nath Kovind said, ‘Special spiritual energy will always be infused in this area from the statue of Swamiji. It is a divine coincidence that the name of this area is Ram Nagar. This region is the land of devotion.’ President Ram Nath Kovind said, ‘Every visit to Telangana holds significance for me. But during today’s visit, I have got the privilege of connecting with the great chapter of the country’s spiritual and social tradition.”

Ram Nath Kovind said, “To spread the message of devotion and equality among the people, Sri Ramanujacharya visited Sri Rangam Kanchipuram, Tirupati, Singhanchalam and other regions of Andhra Pradesh along with Badrinath, Naimsharanya, Dwarka, Prayag, Mathura, Ayodhya, Gaya, Pushkar, and Nepal. Traveling up to Shri Ramanujacharya has provided an intellectual basis to the Bhakti tradition of the South. President Ram Nath Kovind said, ‘This grand and huge statue is not just an idol made of Pancha metal. This statue is the embodiment of the saint tradition of India. This statue is the embodiment of the dream of India’s egalitarian society.”

Notably, on the 5th of February, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, unveiled the “statue of equality” the 216 feet tall statue of 11th-century reformer Ramanujacharya.
