On Thursday, a local court has jailed three bikers for the first time in the city, in a case of over speeding. Two others were sentenced to ‘social awareness.’ They were ordered to hold placards that quote traffic safety awareness in various junctions for a whole day.
On Saturday, in a drive against over speeding, the Saifabad police arrested 18 people for over speeding and driving over 50 Kmph. This included five riders, who were riding over 100 kmph. A charge sheet was filed against these youth by the police.
Gattu Mallu, the traffic inspector at Saifabad said, “The court has imposed Rs 1,000 fine on the offenders while sentencing three of them to imprisonment and two offenders to one day social service. “The 18 caught were sent to Traffic Training Institutes for counseling at Begumpet at Goshamahal.
