Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is scheduled to visit Sircilla on September 30, marking his first visit to the constituency as Chief Minister.
Revanth Reddy is expected to take part in a 4-km roadshow and address a public meeting. The Congress is preparing for a large mobilisation during the visit.
Sircilla has been represented by BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) since 2009. The constituency remains an important political base for the BRS leader.
The Congress is also planning a programme in Siddipet in October. BRS leader T Harish Rao has represented Siddipet since 2004.
The focus on Sircilla and Siddipet comes amid continued political tension between the Congress government and the BRS. The state government has also formed a committee to examine land-related issues involving KCR, KTR, Harish Rao and other BRS leaders.
Meanwhile, KTR has challenged Revanth Reddy to visit Sircilla and release a white paper on the alleged 8,000-acre land issue.
