S. Saidi Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) won the Huzurnagar Assembly bypoll in Telangana.
Saidi Reddy won with 42,484 votes against N. Padmavathi Reddy, the MLA candidate of the Indian National Congress (INC.)
In 2018, S. Saidi Reddy lost against the INC. However, this time, he won with a huge margin.
The major parties which contested the Huzurnagar Assembly elections were the TRS, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the INC and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)
There were a total of 28 candidates in the fray, including three female candidates.
K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, organised a press conference to speak to the media regarding the election results of the Huzurnagar Assembly bypoll. The press conference started at 4:00 P.M., and is still going on.
The welfare schemes and election campaigns of the TRS are believed to be the reason behind S. Saidi Reddy’s landslide victory in the Huzurnagar Assembly bypoll.
