Pothuri Venkateswara Rao, a prominent senior journalist passed away, on the 5th of March.
Mr. Rao, 86 year old, was suffering from cancer. He was admitted to a private hospital in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana and was undergoing treatment for the same.
Born on the 8th of February 1934, Potturi Venkateswara Rao entered into the journalism profession in early 70s and served the Telugu journalism for approximately 5 decades (50 years)
Mr. Rao also was a former chairman of the Press Academy of United Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State. He also worked closely with the Journalist Associations and the senior journalists of his time.
Many Telugu journalists, Publication houses and News Association mourned the demise of Pothuri Venkateswara Rao.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., and K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, expressed their condolences to the family of Mr. Rao.
The last rites of Pothuri Venkateswara Rao are expected to be held on the evening of the 5th of March.
