In a major setback to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) a senior leader Mr. Dasoju Sravan announced to quit the party.
On the 21st of October, Friday, Mr. Dasoju Sravan raised his voice against the distribution of money, meat and liquor among voters in the Munugode Assembly constituency and decided to leave the BJP. It is to be noted, Mr. Dasoju Sravan, a senior politician in the Telugu State recently resigned from the Indian National Congress (INC) and joined the BJP. However, now due to differences in opinions and morals, Mr. Dasoju Srinivas has quit the BJP in just three months of joining. Moreover, the resignation came at a time when the Saffron Party is campaigning for the upcoming Munugode by election, scheduled to be held on the 3rd of November.
Mr. Dasoju Sravan submitted the resignation letter to Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP in Telangana. In the letter, Mr. Dasoju Sravan said, the BJP promised to do alternative politics but its approach in the Munugode by-election was disgusting. He also alleged that BJP with no social responsibility was resorting to the distribution of money bags, encouraging big contractors and pursuing investment politics.
“In such a situation it has become evident that there is no room for a leader like me coming from a weaker section of the society,” read the resignation letter.
Now, after resigning from the BJP, Mr. Dasoju Sravan is likely to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.) However, an official announcement in this regard is awaited.
