Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 3rd of June, Friday, condemned the tragic bus accident in Karnataka and announced ex gratia.
On Friday, a bus collided, resulting in a massive fire which killed 7 people and left other with severe burn injuries. The incident happened around 6:30 A.M., near Kamalapur taluk in Kalaburagi district on the Bidar-Srirangapatna highway. The bus was travelling from Goa to Hyderabad, when collided with a lorry and caught fire.
Expressing condolences to the deceased victim’s families, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao announced an ex gratia of Rs. 3 lakhs to the next kin of people who were from Telangana, and died in the bus accident. Notably, all the deceased who died in the Karnataka bus were residents of Hyderabad, Telangana.
Besides Rs. 3 lakh ex gratia, the Telangana Government also announced Rs. 50,000 to those who were injured in the mishap. The Chief Minister also directed to make all arrangements to bring the bodies of the victims back to Hyderabad, for final rites.
Accordingly, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar directed the Sangareddy district collector to coordinate with the counterpart of Karnataka and arrange to shift the bodies and injured.
As of now, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
