Telangana CM KCR Inaugurates JBS-MGBS Metro Route

K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 7th of February, flagged off the Jubilee Bus Station (JBS)-Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) Metro line.

With the inauguration of the JBS-MGBS stretch, the MGBS Interchange Metro Station, the largest Metro station in India, was also inaugurated in Hyderabad at 4:00 P.M.

The MGBS Interchange Metro Station is spread over 3 lakh square feet and is designed with all kinds of special features.  The Metro station lets commuters change between the JBS to Falaknuma corridor and the Miyapur to L.B. Nagar corridor.

The MGBS Interchange Metro Station is 142 m long and 60 m wide.  It is estimated as many as 60,000 passengers would use the station every day. 

The JBS-MGBS Metro stretch,  which is an 11 km corridor with an operational length of 69 km, would be available for the public from the 7th of February.

The new Metro line is expected to help commuters save time as by road, it takes 45 minutes to travel from JBS to MGBS, whereas by the Metro, they can make it in just 16 minutes.

There would be 9 stations between JBS and MGBS.  The stations in between JBS, Parade Grounds, Secunderabad West, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, RTC X Road, Chikkadpally, Narayanguda, Sultan Bazar and MGBS.
