K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 22nd of September, warned Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their comments against Telangana.

During the Telangana Assembly Budget session, KCR highlighted a comment made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “About granting statehood to Telangana, the Prime Minister has said ‘they have killed the mother to save the child.’ He should stop making such remarks. On behalf of the people of Telangana, as the Chief Minister of Telangana, I urge you that.”

On the other hand, he also warned Amit Shah for the latter’s comments about Telangana Formation Day.

Mr. Rao said, “Amit Shah had remarked that the formation of Telangana was a dark day. I appeal to him to change his attitude towards Telangana. This is a question of self respect of the people of Telangana. We are not going to tolerate these comments, please withdraw these words. We fought for 60 years to get a separate state, nobody did us any favour.”

Rao also criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) which aims to form the Government in Telangana in the next Assembly elections.  Rao said, “There is a saying in Telangana, ‘those who have nothing, will boast heavily about it.’”

KCR tried to explain the scenario if the BJP comes to power in Telangana.  With regard to this, KCR said the BJP will replace many schemes launched by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)  He gave examples and said if the BJP comes to power, it will replace the Aarogyasri scheme with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Rythu Bandhu scheme with Kisaan Samman.

According to the Rythu Bandhu scheme, farmers get Rs. 10,000 as pension per acre, whereas under Kissan Samman, farmers get Rs. 6,000 per acre.

Justifying his allegations about BJP’s bad governance, KCR said if the Modi led BJP was good enough, the village heads and sarpanches of Maharashtra would not have come to KCR and asked him to contest the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

However, it is not yet official the TRS will contest the Maharashtra Assembly elections, which are scheduled to be held on the 21st of October.

Stay tuned for further updates.
