For the second consecutive day, Telangana reported recoveries more than new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
In the last 24 hours, the State Health Department confirmed 197 new positive cases and 356 recoveries/discharges from COVID-19. In addition, two people died due to the virus in the past 24 hours.
With this of the total 2,94,120 positive cases of COVID-19, Telangana has only 2,537 active cases, 2,89,987 recoveries and 1,596 deceased
The increase in recovery cases and decrease in single day positive cases are helping to improve the recovery rate of Telangana.
The recovery rate improved further to 98.59 % against the national average of 96.90 %.
The fatality rate remained 0.54 % against the national average of 1.40 %.
The daily count of cases in Greater Hyderabad also went below 50 from 100.
In the past 24 hours the GHMC limits reported only 38 new cases, followed by Rangareddy district with 13 cases, Karimnagar (12) and Medchal Malkajgiri (11.)
The daily count in the remaining districts for COVID-19 were below 10.
In addition, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 31,486 tests for COVID-19, of which 27,554 were in government labs and 3,932 in private labs.
Till date, the cumulative number of tests conducted in the state rose to 77,90,901.
According to officials, 70 % of positive cases reported in the state so far were asymptomatic.
