On the 1st of January, 2021, the Telangana Health Department registered 461 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
According to the media bulletin released on the night of the 31st of December, the State reported 461 new positive cases, 617 recovered/discharged cases and 3 deaths.
Of the total new cases, the highest number of cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 108 cases, followed by 44 from Rangareddy and 41 from Medchal Malkajgiri.
The remaining 268 cases were from other districts of Telangana.
With the aforementioned data, till the 1st of January, Telangana has 2,86,815 positive cases, of which 2,79,456 are recovered/discharged cases, 5,815 are active cases and 1,544 are deceased.
In addition, between the 30th and the 31st of December, the State Health Department conducted 42,013 tests. However, the reports of 763 are awaited.
So far, Telangana conducted 69,24,707 sample tests for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the recovery rate in Telangana is at 97.43 % and the fatality rate is at 0.53%.
