Telangana COVID-19 Updates:  State Records 1,863 New Cases, Total Crosses 90,000

The Telangana Medical department, on the night of the 14th of August, released a media bulletin regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.

According to the Telangana Health Department’s bulletin, 1,863 new cases with 10 new fatalities of the  COVID-19 infection were reported in the last 24 hours. 

Of the total 1,863 cases, 18 were from Adilabad, 36 from Bhadradri, 394 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal (GHMC.) 

 

Other places which reported fresh COVID-19 cases are: 61 from Jagtial, 34 from Jangaon, 12 from Bhuplapally, 58 from Gadwal, 31 from Kamareddy, 104 from Karimnagar, 76 from Khammam, 12 from Komarambheem Asifabad, 18 from Mahabubnagar, 14 from Mahabubabad, seven from Mancherial, 36 from Medak, 175 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 13 from Mulugu, 24 from Nagarkurnool, 49 from Nalgonda, five from Narayanpet, 28 from Nirmal, 39 from Nizamabad, 40 from Peddapalli, 90 from Siricilla, 131 from Rangareddy, 81 from Sangareddy, 60 from Siddipet, 33 from Suryapet, 16 from Vikarabad, 26 from Wanaparthy, 41 from Warangal Rural, 101 from Warangal Urban and 15 positive cases from Yadadri Bhongir.

 

 

Till the 14th of August, this is the 14th consecutive day with a spike with more than 1,000 cases. 

On the morning of the 10th of August, 1,256 cases were registered in a day and on the 11th of August, the single day spike was 1,896 on the 12th of August, the cases reported were 1,897 and on the 13th of August, cases were 1,931.

On the 15th of August, with 1,863 new cases, the total reached 90,259 cases.  With 10 new fatalities, the total stands at 684.  In addition, with 1,912 numbers, total recovered cases reported till date are 66,196.

With these updates, Telangana has 90,258 positive cases, of which 23,379 are active cases, 66,196 are recovered/discharged cases and 684 deceased.

Out of the 23,438 patients, 16,221 patients are under home isolation and 7,158 are in institutional care.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Health authorities conducted  21,239 tests till the night of the 15th of August. 

Of the total 21,239 tests, COVID-19 results of 664 samples are pending.

So far 7,32,435 samples have been tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection in Telangana. 

With the everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases, the recovery rate in Telangana is now 73.30  from the previous 72.70 %.

In addition, mortality rate is 0.80% since the 5th of August and growth rate to 2.50 % from the previous 2.60 %.

Meanwhile, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, urged the Central Government to increase medical facilities for better treatment for the Novel Coronavirus.
