With this, it would be the first virtual GHMC council meeting. The Mayor of the GHMC, G. Vijaya Laxmi said, “Respecting COVID-19 norms and the safety of 150 corporators, staff and media representatives, we have decided to conduct the General Body Meeting virtually for the first time ever.” Adding to it, Sindhu Adarsh Reddy, the GHMC Corporator from Bharati Nagar ward said, “Conducting a meeting online is a good initiative taken up by GHMC. Virtual meets will ensure the works do not slow down. Despite the pandemic, our TRS party corporators were on the ground assisting people and monitoring (the) civic works.”
