The nominations for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections started from the 18th of November.
Candidates could file their nominations from the 18th of November, 1:00 A.M., onwards till the scrutiny date.
The last date for filing nominations is the 21st of November. Scrutiny of nominations would be done on the 21st of November and withdrawal of nominations is till the 22nd of November.
The final list of contesting candidates would be published on the 22nd of November after 3:00 P.M.
The counting of votes would be held on the 4th of December.
C. Partha Sarathi, the State Election Commissioner of Telangana, said the elections would be conducted using ballot papers as many political parties wanted the use of ballot papers over EVMs due to different litigations and also as per Supreme Court orders.
Over 74 lakh voters would be eligible to cast their votes on the polling day.
Over 48,000 polling personnel would be deployed. In addition flying squads, micro observers, static surveillance teams and others would also be monitoring the proceedings.
Over 2700 polling stations would be sensitive, hyper sensitive and critical stations and arrangements are being made accordingly.
The details of the upcoming GHMC elections was released by the SEC officials in a press conference on the 16th of November.
