Indira Sabita Reddy, the Education Minister of Telangana, recently conducted a meeting regarding schools and education scenario in the State.

According to sources, the Telangana Education Department is expected to reduce 11 papers to six papers. The duration of the exam will be the same. It is also learned that the students will be given a gap of one day between two examinations and for exams like Mathematics and other tough subjects, a gap of two days would be given.

Chava Ravi, United Teachers Federation General Secretary (Telangana,) said, “The reduction in exam papers would mean cutting down the syllabus and the number of questions and choices will also be reduced.”

In 2021, as many as five lakh students are expected to take the SSC exams.

Besides reducing syllabus and papers, the Department also decided to resume classes and reopen schools.

The Telangana Government is planning to reopen the schools and other educational institutions either in the first week of January or after Sankranti.

However, an official announcement regarding all the developments are yet to be made.
