The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government announced good news for the poor Dalits of Telangana.
According to sources, on the 23rd of May, Monday, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, said his Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government would bring in 1.75 lakh families under Dalit Bandhu in the 2022-2023 financial year.
Concerning this arrangement, the TRS Government has sanctioned Rs.17,700 crore in the 2022-23 financial year budget. Furthermore, the TRS Government also announced to implementation of the Dalit Rakshana Nidhi, which would ensure that all Dalit families get help from the fund at times of distress.
In addition, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government also announced a 10% reservation for Dalits in providing licenses for medical shops, liquor shops, fertilizers, and other businesses.
The new announcement to include 1.75 lakh Dalit families is under the Dalit Bandhu Scheme, which was launched in 2021 as a pilot project.
The Dalit Bandhu scheme was launched as a pilot project in Huzurabad, which was later extended to Vasalamarri village and four mandals.
In a recent meeting, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced the Dalit Bandhu Scheme to be extended to four more mandals.
Under the announced Dalit Bandhu scheme, the financial benefits would empower Dalits in Telangana. The Dalit Bandhu Scheme (Dalit Empowerment Program) would provide financial assistance to Dalit families. The Chandrashekar Rao Government would provide Rs. 10 lakh financial assistance directly to the bank accounts of Dalit beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Dalit Empowerment Programme. The eligible families selected as beneficiaries from 119 Assembly constituencies would receive the money to make them financially stable and self-sufficient.
