The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Minister announced to the installation of a 125-feet-long bronze statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at PVR Marg. The announcement on the 14th of April, Thursday, is the 131st birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The bronze statue, which would be completed by 2022 December end, would be a major tourist attraction with an additional set up of a museum and a meditation center. Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology Minister of Telangana, along with Mr. Koppula Eshwar, the Social Welfare Minister visited the site at PVR Marg to take stock of the statue. The Minister added, “The 125 feet long statue will be coming up on a basement of 55 feet in a park of 11 acres and efforts are on to make it a tourist destination with a cost of Rs. 150 crores.”
Concerning the museum, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao asked the Social Welfare Minister and other concerned officials to visit various places in the country and if needed, other countries to study the monuments and establish the best tourist destination in the City. Mr. K.T. Rama Rao said, “This is once in a lifetime work to have such a huge statue. Hence, the team involved in the project should look at all options and incorporate those into this project. All Indians should be proud of this.”
Remembering Mr. B.R. Ambedkar for his contribution to the Indian society, especially, Telangana State, which became reality due to Article 3 of the Constitution of India, framed by Dr. Ambedkar. KTR said, “The TRS follows ideas of Ambedkar. We are fighting without any compromise for the benefit of people.”
India is celebrating the 131st Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, also known as “Babasaheb”, who was a social reformer who drafted India’s Constitution. He was a jurist and economist whose thoughts influenced generations. Dr. Ambedkar was the driving force behind India’s Dalit movement. He devoted his entire life to promoting equality, bringing about social improvements, and spreading progressive views.
