Telangana Health Director Says No Lockdown In Telangana, Asks People To Be Cautious

The Telangana Health Director G. Srinivas Rao, put an end to the lockdown rumour in the State. In the past few days, due to the rise in the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases, there was a buzz of night curfew or lockdown in Telangana. 

However, on the 22nd of March, Mr. Srinivas Rao addressed the media and said, no such lockdown or night curfew would be imposed in Telangana. He said, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government has no plans to announce a lockdown and curfew in the State.

Though there would be no lockdown, the State Government is mulling to shut educational institutions, which has now become a hotspot for the spread of COVID-19. In the past few days, school students have tested COVID-19 positive in many districts like Jagatial, Karimnagar and others.

Mr. Srinivas Rao also warned people to follow the guidelines of COVID-19 to prevent spread. He said, “Second wave in Telangana is suspected to have arrived as there is a surge in the cases.” He further added, “The Government is implementing strict measures to control the virus-spread which is only possible with the cooperation of the people.”

Meanwhile, Telangana has 3,03,455 positive cases, of which 2,98,826 are recovered/discharged cases, 2,958 are active cases and 1,671 deceased.
