Eatala Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, on the 22nd of April, confirmed that there was no shortage of oxygen and beds for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 patients.  

During a press conference in, Mr. Eatala Rajender said, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is working hard and taking all the necessary steps to ensure the prevention of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The Telangana Health Minister said, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana is concerned about the safety of people and is prepared to fight the pandemic. He even said, the TRS Government is also ready to spend crores of money if needed to handle the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The statements were made during a press meet at an event of Ramnavami festival in Huzurabad. During the meet, he also urged people to strictly follow the COVID-19 protocols as the State is witnessing a second wave of the Novel Coronavirus.

In addition, The Telangana Minister said in the past week there has been a rampant increase in COVID-19 cases and the Government has taken up measures to keep the beds and oxygen available in the hospitals. He said that the public should not believe in the rumours regarding the shortage of beds and oxygen in the hospitals and assured availability. He also dismissed the reports of a shortage of vaccines in the state and said that the State Government has appealed to the Central Government for extra doses of vaccine. He added that his government has sought assistance from the Centre regarding extra oxygen requirements.

On the other hand, E. Rajender also briefed about the health condition of K. Chandrashekar Rao, who recently tested positive for COVID-19. He said KCR would soon be healthy and would be in service to the public.

Meanwhile, Telangana has 3,73,468 positive cases, of which 3,21,788 recovered/discharged cases, 49,781 active cases and 1,899 deceased cases.
