Telangana continued to record more than 5,000 cases for the 4th consecutive day. On the 22nd of April, the State recorded a total 5,567 fresh COVID-19 cases,pushing the tally to over 3.73 lakh.
In addition to the new cases, the State recorded 23 fatalities and 2,251 recovered/discharged cases. The figures of COVID-19 cases were released through a media bulletin, released on the night of the 21st of April. The Telangana Health Department released the media bulletin for COVID-19 at 8:00 P.M., regularly.
According to the bulletin, Telangana has 3,73,468 positive cases, of which 3,21,788 recovered/discharged cases, 49,781 active cases and 1,899 deceased cases.
Of the total new cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the highest number of cases with 989, followed by Rangareddy (437) and Medchal Malkajgiri (421.)
In addition, between the 20th of April and the 21st of April, the State Health Department conducted 1.02 lakh samples on Wednesday.
Cumulatively, over 1.21 crore samples have been tested.
On the other hand, Telangana has a 90 % recovery rate with a 0.54 % fatality rate.
