On the 8th of November, Monday, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology (IT) and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, made remarks in support of Bollywood actor Mr. Sonu Sood.
During a conference in Hyderabad, Mr. Rama Rao said, the Central Government targeted Mr. Sonu Sood. He said, “The BJP suspected Sonu Sood may enter politics and use his reputation to spoil their winning chances in elections.”
Highlighting the recent Income Tax (IT) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids at the residence of Sonu Sood, Mr. Rama Rao said, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government conducted raids to target the actor. He said, the BJP feared that Mr. Sonu Sood might enter politics and would defeat the BJP, as he has become an icon for people due to his good deeds during the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) pandemic.
Mr. K.T. Rama Rao said, to defame the actor’s image the BJP conducted IT and ED raids, but the Telangana Government is with Sonu Sood. He said, the BJP is spreading rumours against the actor to damage the good name earned by him during the Wuhan virus pandemic, when he donated crores of rupees to help the poor and needy.
Mr. K.T. Rama Rao assured the actor not to worry, as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government would extend support to him.
