In June, Telangana received 50 % excess rainfall than usual rainfall received during Monsoon.

On the 30th of June, the Telangana Weather official said, this monsoon season, Telangana received 194.55 mm rainfall against the normal 130 mm.

From June 1st to the 30th of June, Telangana reported 194.55 mm, higher than the amount of rain recorded in 2020. In June 2020, Telangana reported 171.6 mm rainfall. 

According to sources, the highest amount of rainfall was received in Adilabad (318.7 mm) and Wanaparthy recorded the least amount of rainfall (76.8 mm.) In addition only six districts, Mancherial, Nirmal, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Vikarabad received normal rainfall. Of the remaining 27 districts, 11 districts received excess rainfall, 13 districts received large excess, and five districts have received normal rainfall during this period.

It is to be noted that -19 % to 19 % range is normal rainfall, 20 % to 59 % is excess rainfall and 60 to 100% is large excess rainfall. Meanwhile, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD,) Telangana is to receive heavy rainfall for the next two days, the 1st and the 2nd of July. The Telangana Weather Department and the IMD issued a yellow alert in the State.

According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Telangana. Isolated places in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahabubabad, Warangal (Rural), Warangal (Urban), Janagaon, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar districts of Telangana are likely to receive heavy rainfall.
