Telangana Reports 1,061 COVID-19 Cases With 11 Deaths In 24 Hours

In Telangana, 1,061 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported on the 25th of June. 

Compared to the previous few days, the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases are declining in the State. Recently, on the 24th of June, the cases were close to 1,100. Whereas, by the 25th of June, Telangana reported less than 1,100 cases.

Besides the new Wuhan virus cases, Telangana reported 11 deaths and 1,556 recovered/discharged cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The updated figures of the deadly Wuhan virus were confirmed through a health bulletin, released to the media updating about the COVID-19 situation. The State Health Department releases the bulletin everyday at 8:00 P.M.

According to the health bulletin released on the 25th of June, Telangana has 6,18,837 positive cases, of which 15,524 are active cases, 5,99,695 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,618 are deceased cases.

In Telangana, the regions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the highest number of cases with 135 cases followed by Karimnagar (80,) Suryapet (67) and Rangareddy (66.)

In addition, according to the bulletin, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 1,20,397 sample tests for COVID-19, taking the total to till the 26th of June.

With this, Telangana has a 96.62 % recovery rate from COVID-19 with a 0.58 % fatality rate.

The Director of Public Health and Family welfare, in its bulletin once again said that people with co morbid conditions like hypertension, diabetes, cardiac illness, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer or any other chronic illness are requested to stay indoors and avoid any kind of travel except for medical care in order to avoid exposure to COVID-19.

The Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said, “If symptoms related to COVID-19 are observed, please report to the nearest government health facility and seek the required health services without any delay.”

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 212 containment zones, there are 99 active micro containment zones in Telangana. Of these, the highest number of containment zones (23) are in Mahabubabad followed by 20 in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
