The Telangana Media bulletin updating the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 situation reported 1,718 new COVID-19 cases.
On the night of the 2nd of October, the Telangana Health Department released a bulletin according to which the State recorded 1,718 new COVID-19 infections and 8 fatalities in 24 hours.
Of the total 1,718 cases, 15 were from Adilabad, 55 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 285 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) 33 from Jagtial, 24 from Jangaon, 19 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 20 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 39 from Kamareddy and 105 from Karimnagar.
The remaining cases were 79 from Khammam, 25 from Komaram Bheem Asifabad, 32 from Mahabubnagar, 52 from Mahabubabad, 20 each from Mancherial, 19 from Medak, 115 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 20 from Mulugu, 23 from Nagarkurnool, 103 from Nalgonda, 12 from Narayanpet, 18 from Nirmal, 58 from Nizamabad, 22 from Peddapalli, 52 from Rajanna Siricilla, 129 from Rangareddy, 42 from Sangareddy, 76 from Siddipet, 60 from Suryapet, 24 from Vikarabad, 28 from Wanaparthy, 21 from Warangal Rural, 56 from Warangal Urban and 37 from Yadadri Bhongir.
On the other hand, a total of 2,002 persons are recovered/discharged on the 2nd of October.
With these updates, Telangana has 1,97,327 positive cases, of which 1,67,846 are recovered/discharged, 28,328 are active cases and 1,153 deceased.
With everyday cases and recoveries, the State has 85.05 % recovery rate.
Meanwhile, as per the Telangana Health Ministry, between the 1st and 2nd of October, nearly 49,084 COVID-19 tests were conducted, of which reports of another 994 samples are awaited.
Till date, the Telangana Health Department conducted as many as 31,53,626 COVID-19 tests.
The population of Telangana is 3,72,20,000.
