On the 19th of June, the Telangana Cabinet is scheduled to meet and discuss the ongoing Wuhan Virus situation and an imposed lockdown.

The Cabinet meeting would be chaired by K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, at 2:00 P.M., today (Saturday.)

During the meeting, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Cabinet ministers would also discuss issues related to monsoon, agriculture and other welfare schemes. However, the major agenda of today’s meeting would be the ongoing lockdown.

The imposed lockdown in Telangana is scheduled to end today, the 19th of June. Before the imposed lockdown expires, the TRS Government would take a decision whether they need to extend the lockdown or would lift the lockdown with relaxations.

The news about the Cabinet meeting was confirmed by the Telangana Government’s official release. The notification issued on the 18th of June, read, “An emergency State Cabinet meeting will be held here at Pragati Bhavan on Saturday at 2:00 P.M., under the chairmanship of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.” It further read, “Lockdown in the state, rainfall, cultivation in the Monsoon season, agriculture-related seasonal issues, lifting of Godavari waters, Hydel power generation and other issues would be discussed.”

Meanwhile, till date, Telangana has 6,10,834 positive cases, of which 5,88,259 are recovered/discharged cases, 19,029 active cases and 3,546 death cases.
