Telangana will soon have new Bharosa centres promising security of women in Telangana.
Concerned about the safety of women and children in Telangana, the Women and Child Safety Wing of the Telangana police, took the initiative to launch the Bharosa centres.
Approximately 10 Bharosa centres are going to be launched in Telangana by the end of the year.
The fund to launch the centres would be raised from the Central Government and Corporate Social Responsibility scheme.
According to sources, the centres would help women who had been through abuses like physical, sexual, financial, or emotional. The centres would help the women and the children to register cases getting medical help, counselling and provide all kinds of legal services to the victims.
As of now, the Hyderabad Police and the Women and Children Wing of Telangana Police are going to construct the Bharosa centres at Cyberabad and at Rachakonda commissionerats.
Swati Larka, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Hyderabad and Head of Women and Child Safety Wing said, “There are 31 districts in the state and our aim is to set up these centres across the state.”
As of now, the State has only one Bharosa Centre in Adarsh Nagar. The Bharosa Scheme registered 6,437 cases, with a total of 898 Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) cases, 4,490 domestic violence cases, out of which 3,627 cases have been solved.
