A day after the Huzurabad Assembly constituency by poll schedule announcement was made by the Election Commission of India (ECI,) the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) geared up for planning.
On the 29th of September, the TPCC sent three shortlisted names as their Candidate for the Huzurabad Assembly by election. The TPCC Election Management Panel, is working on the strategy to finalise the Huzurabad Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate. To start with, the Election Management Panel asked interested leaders in contesting in the Huzurabad by polls. As of now, a total of 19 TPCC leaders expressed their interest to contest the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly by election.
Of the total 19 leaders, the TPCC panel finalised the top three leaders. They are Mr. Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Mr. Patti Krishna Reddy and Mr. Payata Ramesh. The panel also added Ms. Konda Surekha’s name to the list of potential candidates for the Huzurabad Assembly by election. The shortlisted names have been sent to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and the Indian National Congress National leaders, to take a final call.
Meanwhile, the opposition Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) announced Mr. Gellu Srinivas Yadav is the candidate for the Huzurabad MLA by election. Another major party in the fray, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to name Mr. Eatala Rajender, the former MLA of Huzurabad and member of TRS to be the BJP candidate.
It is to be noted, the Huzurabad MLA position fell vacant after Mr. Eatala Rajender resigned from the post and quit the TRS. He later joined the opposition, BJP and is now expected to re contest the Huzurabad by election and win the MLA seat.
The Huzurabad Assembly by election is scheduled to be held on the 30th of October and results would be announced on the 2nd of November.
