The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, on the 28th of October, would submit a detailed report regarding the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) strike to the Telangana High Court (HC.)

In the last hearing, the Telangana HC ordered the State Government to conduct a meeting with the TSRTC officials and resolve the matter.  The Court also asked the TRS to review the reasonable demands of the TSRTC employees.

On the 27th of October, the TSRTC staff and Joint Action Committee (JAC) conducted a meeting with the officials of the Transport Department and the committee constituted to review the TSRTC employees’ demands.

According to the TRS, the meeting was not fruitful as the JAC leaders emphasised on the demands which were refused by the TRS Government and walked out in the middle of the meeting.

However, the JAC leaders denied the allegations of the TRS officials and said instead of reviewing the TSRTC staff’s 26 demands, the committee only considered 21 demands.

Puvvada Ajay Kumar, the Transport Minister of Telangana, discussed the matter with K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

Due to the indefinite strike by the TSRTC staff, KCR instructed the TSRTC officials to hire more private buses for the daily commuters in Telangana.

On the 24th of October, KCR conducted a press conference and said he could do nothing for the TSRTC staff as their strike and demand for the merger of the TSRTC and the TRS Government are baseless.  He said the strike is illegal, illogical and nonsensical and he would not agree to the demands of the employees.

He even lashed out at the opposition parties who are extending their support to the TSRTC employees.

On the 28th of October, as per the orders of the Telangana High Court (HC,) the TRS Government is scheduled to submit a report regarding the strike and also explain the stand of the State Government.

The TSRTC strike, which started on the 5th of October, entered its 23rd day on the 28th of October.

Stay tuned for further updates.
